Los Sueños Resort and Marina in Costa Rica continues to uphold its reputation as a premier fishing destination, offering exceptional opportunities for offshore and inshore anglers.
Offshore Fishing:
March marks the peak of the fishing season in Los Sueños, with warm Pacific waters attracting various prized species. Anglers have been experiencing impressive catches, particularly of sailfish, with many charters reporting double-digit releases on full-day trips. Blue marlin are also prevalent, alongside occasional black and striped marlin. Mahi-mahi (dorado) are frequently caught near floating debris and fish aggregating devices, while yellowfin tuna, some weighing 50-100 pounds, are often found traveling alongside spinner dolphins. Wahoo, though less common, has been an exciting surprise for those trolling high-speed lures along deep-water structures.
Inshore Fishing:
The inshore scene remains vibrant, with roosterfish biting well around rocky points and river mouths, providing thrilling fights on light tackle. Live bait, particularly blue runners, has effectively enticed these powerful fish. Cubera snapper and other reef-dwelling species are being caught using deep jigging setups and bottom fishing rigs near reefs and submerged structures. Anglers also enjoy action from jacks and mackerel, making for non-stop excitement on half-day inshore trips.
